Daily color name puzzle — match the word to the exact shade
Color Guesser is a daily color puzzle where you're shown a color name — Cobalt, Saffron, Sage — and have to match it on a color wheel. Spin to the right hue, drag the lightness slider to nail the shade. No multiple choice. No hints. No second chances per round. Just your color memory.
Every day a new set of five words is picked from 60 real color names — same puzzle for every player worldwide. Score up to 1,000 points per round based on how close your pick looks to the correct answer. A perfect game earns 5,000. Think you know your Crimson from your Scarlet? Today's puzzle will find out.
Color Guesser flips the usual color-naming game. Most color tests hand you a swatch and ask you to label it. Color Guesser does the opposite: you get the word and have to build the color from memory. That single reversal makes it surprisingly hard — even for people with strong color awareness.
The 60 words in Color Guesser are carefully chosen: familiar names like Cobalt, Sage, and Salmon that most people have a mental image of, but that are genuinely tricky to pin to an exact hex. Is Cobalt more royal blue or navy? Is Sage warm or cool? Every daily puzzle finds five words that will split your instincts.
Scoring uses RGB color distance, which reflects how different two colors actually look side by side. A guess that's slightly off across all three channels — but still close overall — can score above 900. You don't need to be exact. You need to be precise.
